A Big Thank You from Team Time & Tide!

A huge thank you to all members for the hop harvest this year, and to all involved from the farmers doing the drying, the members delivering and collecting the hops and all those involved in organising the harvest.

We’ve brewed a 20 barrel batch (about 5760 pints) of the beer and are hoping it will sell quickly due to the nature of green hop being brewed using fresh hops (to really enjoy and experience the fresh hop oils), so we hope you all love it!

In terms of where you, as members, can drink it, it’s going locally to various outlets, and we will be launching it on Wednesday 20th Sept at the Time & Tide Taphouse in Sandwich! The bar opens at 3 and will have it available on cask. As a special offer, pints of green hop will be at a reduced price of £4.50 for DHF members showing their DHF card (usually £4.85) for Weds 20th only. It’s a separate business, so it’s offered as a celebration of the community and all things green hop. The green hop isn’t at the Green Hop festival (Canterbury) this year as we weren’t expecting it to be ready in time as it’s a late harvest hop.

We haven’t included further afield for now as it’s mostly going locally (as intended) and this should be near enough to members to be able to sample some.

Cans Availability for DHF Members: Cans are available for DHF members from Friday, 22nd September, which is earlier than we had planned (and we will need to confirm this just to be certain early this week). These can be collected from the brewery that day with the free can.

Members must show their DHF card to obtain the discount and free can. We are planning on releasing and delivering elsewhere the following week.

Brewery Opening Hours: The brewery is open 9-5ish Monday to Friday for collections (Statenborough Farm, Felderland Lane CT140BX – next door to Gladwells), and we have an event on 29th and 30th September which is Oktoberfest (all welcome) – with 20 taps and many Oktoberfest themed beers (plus many more), food from the Fry Light including German themed specials, and an extended licence both nights until 10pm.

Tinseltown Event: Lastly, we have Tinseltown on 8th and 9th December at St Mary’s Arts Centre in Sandwich. This will feature at least 24 taps of beer including guests, and will include a Xmas market on the 9th between 10-4pm. If any members would like a table selling crafts etc please get in touch. All are welcome to the event. More details to follow.

We hope to see you soon for pick-ups, events, and gift packs with Xmas around the corner… we also plan on hosting a meet the brewer (us!) at a couple of local venues before Xmas so members can come along and hear a bit more about us and what we do if they’d like (Taphouse Sandwich and Lighthouse Walmer).
